En fait je cherchais plutôt une recette que ma mère faisait quand j'étais petite et, comme je ne trouve plus son livre de recettes personnel à elle (sur une disquette quelque part et je n'ai plus de lecteur de disquettes), je me suis souvenue l'avoir vue dans cette grosse bible culinaire.
Des betteraves Harvard!
Je n'ai vraiment pas suivi la recette à la lettre: trop de gras, trop de sucre, trop de fécule, trop de vinaigre... Oui, je sais c'est ça la base des betteraves harvard...
Alors j'ai seulement fait bouillir les betteraves avec la pelure, coupées en quartiers, égouttées, puis j'ai ajouté une cuillérée de vinaigre, une de sucre et une petite tasse d'eau froide mélangée à une petite cuillérée de fécule de maïs. Laisser mijoter et voilà! Ça goûte exactement ça!
un vrai petit délice rose que je ne peux plus m'arrêter de manger.
